Glasgow City Council to partner with Rosterfy to deliver COP26

Glasgow City Council has selected Rosterfy to support and engage it’s volunteers ahead of COP26, which will take place in November this year.

Glasgow City Council has selected Rosterfy, leaders in volunteer management, to support and engage it’s volunteers ahead of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), which will take place in November this year.

The COP26 summit will bring together delegates from around the world with a mission to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Around 1,000 volunteers will be engaged to support the event.

“The team at Rosterfy couldn’t be prouder to be working alongside Glasgow City Council and the COP26 Volunteer team to play a small role in such an important global event. With a mission to connect communities to events and causes they’re passionate about, COP26 provides a great opportunity for the Glasgow community to get involved and support one of the world’s biggest challenges to date, climate change.” said Phillip Gbormittah, Head of Sales UK at Rosterfy.

Rosterfy will be utilised by Glasgow City Council to recruit, screen, train, schedule and manage volunteers from start to finish, providing a great opportunity for the city to build on its legacy of volunteering for major events.

Phil continued, “Local councils have a unique opportunity to create and instill a culture of volunteering and ensure a lasting legacy within their communities. Volunteering continues to deliver huge benefits with regard to our emotional and physical health and well-being, which is why ensuring volunteer opportunities are accessible to all is so important.”

The new partnership with Rosterfy will result in a significant reduction in the time spent on administrative tasks, allowing the COP26 volunteer management staff to focus their time and attention on engaging and retaining their volunteers.

“Rosterfy have been able to provide a user friendly system that meets our requirements and have been a great support in preparation to launch the volunteer recruitment. The system provides great options to support volunteers throughout their journey and this adds to the overall volunteer experience”, said Claire Shiel, Senior Volunteer Manager with Glasgow City Council.

Volunteer registrations for COP26 are now open. For more information about the event, please visit https://ukcop26.org/ or to register to become a volunteer, click here
