SPONSORSHIP

Rosterfy Partners with What’s the Chari-tea? to Champion Volunteer Wellbeing

Through a new sponsorship, Rosterfy supports What's the Chari-tea?, an online community and podcast championing wellbeing in the charity and volunteer sector.

What’s the Chari-tea? is the new online community dedicated to connecting and supporting the people behind nonprofit work. Founded in June 2025 by Louise Dawtry, What’s the Chari-tea? is a safe, supportive and inclusive space for all nonprofit people to connect.

Whether you’re a paid employee, a volunteer, trustee, or someone who loves to support a good cause, this is the place for you. With over 750 followers and counting, What’s the Chari-tea? now has its very own podcast too. With a fast-growing listenership, the project is creating space for honest conversations around what it’s really like to work in the third sector.

A New Nonprofit Community, Supported by Rosterfy

Hosted by Louise, the podcast aims to give those people working for charity and nonprofit organisations a platform to speak their truth about the highs and lows of their work. The nonprofit sector is powered by purpose but that purpose often comes with pressure. Charity workers, founders and volunteers speak openly and vulnerably about their ‘why’ for this work, as well as the emotional toll of giving, the challenges of sustainability, and the urgent need for better wellbeing support.

“Burnout is one of the biggest issues facing nonprofit professionals and volunteers,” Louise explains. “We’re trying to shift the narrative from overwork and guilt, to care, connection, and sustainable impact.”

The podcast reached number 3 in the Apple nonprofit charts within weeks of launching, and the community continues to grow through Instagram, Substack, and Linkedin.

“Rosterfy’s sponsorship is helping us build a platform that doesn’t just talk about wellbeing, it actively supports it,” Louise says. “We’re excited to explore how tech can make volunteer management more efficient, more inclusive, and more sustainable.”

Championing the Future of Volunteering

"In my day job as People and Culture Lead for a mental health charity, I am responsible for volunteer management," Louise shares. "Understanding the needs of our volunteers to build a fulfilling working relationship is a key part of volunteer management. Utilising technology with a pro-active, people-centred approach can really help organisations drive this.

Louise is a real volunteering advocate and volunteers herself as a Trustee, and also as an Education Mentor and Career Coach.

“Volunteering is a huge part of my life. I love being able to give something back to others. I have also developed my own skills through volunteering, and it has built my network hugely; I’ve met so many interesting people along the way.”

With Rosterfy’s support, What’s the Chari-tea? is expanding its reach and deepening its impact. Plans are underway for a mini research study into nonprofit wellbeing, a series of live events, and more podcast episodes featuring diverse voices from across the sector.
