Bellyful NZ lays the foundations for scalable, volunteer-led care with Rosterfy

Bellyful New Zealand has selected Rosterfy as its national volunteer management solution, laying the foundations for sustainable growth while continuing to support whānau with care, connection and aroha.

Bellyful nourishes whānau and strengthens communities by bringing volunteers together to cook and deliver meals to families with babies and young children who are without a support network. Families are referred to Bellyful during times of illness, stress, isolation, bereavement, pregnancy, miscarriage or baby loss, regardless of financial situation. Each meal is more than kai. It is comfort, kindness and practical support for families doing it tough.

In 2025, Bellyful volunteers delivered 36,170 meals to 6,904 whānau across Aotearoa, including 3,314 meals to neonatal wards. This mahi is powered by nearly 800 volunteers nationwide, supported by a small national team of five part-time staff, with volunteers shaping how the service operates in their own communities.

As Bellyful’s volunteer network has grown rapidly, managing onboarding, compliance, Cookathons, deliveries and communication through spreadsheets and manual systems became increasingly complex. For a values-led organisation grounded in manaakitanga, aroha and whanaungatanga, supporting people well meant investing in systems that make volunteering easier, not harder.

To support sustainable growth and protect volunteer and staff wellbeing, Bellyful has partnered with Rosterfy and is currently onboarding the platform as its national volunteer management system.

The onboarding phase focuses on creating structured volunteer journeys, automating onboarding and training, streamlining Cookathon and delivery coordination, and improving visibility across the national network. Once implemented, Rosterfy will provide a single, connected platform to reduce administrative pressure on volunteer leaders and help volunteers move from registration to meaningful contribution more easily and confidently.

Chief Executive, Sheena Revington says investing in the right volunteer management tools is critical as the organisation continues to grow.

Through its partnership with Rosterfy, Bellyful is putting the right foundations in place to support its people well, reduce pressure on volunteers, and make it easier to continue delivering meals with care, connection and aroha to whānau across Aotearoa.
