ASAPD selects Rosterfy to power a national volunteer management program across Australia’s peak disability sport organisations

The Australian Sporting Alliance for People with Disability (ASAPD) has selected Rosterfy as its volunteer management platform, marking a significant milestone in the organisation’s vision to create a more connected, scalable and sustainable volunteer ecosystem across disability sport in Australia.

Representing eight National Sporting Organisations for Disability with Disability (NSODs) including Blind Sports Australia, Boccia Australia, Deaf Sports Australia, Disabled Wintersport Australia, Riding for the Disabled Australia, Special Olympics Australia, Sport Inclusion Australia and Transplant Australia, ASAPD sought a solution that would enable a collaborative approach to volunteer management across multiple sports and events nationwide. Rather than operating in isolation, member organisations recognised that they could achieve greater impact by working together through a shared volunteer infrastructure.

Creating better outcomes for volunteers and volunteer managers

By implementing Rosterfy, ASAPD and its member organisations will establish a national volunteer program that provides administrators with access to a larger pool of engaged, screened and experienced volunteers, while delivering a more seamless experience for volunteers themselves.

Volunteers will be able to create a single account, complete onboarding once, and move between participating sporting organisations and events without needing to repeatedly register or complete duplicate training and compliance requirements. Their volunteering history, experience and contributions will be tracked centrally, creating a more rewarding and connected volunteer journey.

Monumental step forward

"This is a monumental step forward for volunteer management within disability sport."

The move also delivers significant operational and financial benefits. Rather than each organisation maintaining separate volunteer management systems and licensing arrangements, ASAPD’s shared approach creates economies of scale while ensuring consistent standards and processes across all member organisations.

Safeguarding volunteers with national standards

Compliance and volunteer safeguarding were key considerations in the selection process. Rosterfy’s built-in screening and credential management capabilities will enable ASAPD to establish a national standard for volunteer compliance, including the collection, verification and ongoing management of Working With Children Checks (WWCC) and other critical credentials.

Clear visibility on compliance

“Volunteer safety, compliance and experience are fundamental to the future of our sector,”

“With Rosterfy, we can ensure consistent standards across all member organisations without compromising flexibility, while giving volunteers confidence that their information, credentials and contributions are managed effectively.”

The implementation positions ASAPD for future growth as volunteer participation continues to expand across disability sports. Through automation, centralised volunteer records and enhanced reporting capabilities, member organisations will be better equipped to attract, engage and retain volunteers at scale.

ASAPD’s ambitions mirror the success achieved by other leading Rosterfy customers, including the TCS Sydney Marathon, which grew its volunteer workforce by more than 500% through the adoption of modern volunteer management technology.

A shared volunteer ecosystem

“ASAPD’s vision demonstrates what is possible when organisations move beyond traditional silos and embrace collaboration."

“By creating a shared volunteer ecosystem, ASAPD is building a stronger foundation for disability sport across Australia. We are excited to support their member organisations as they grow participation, strengthen compliance and create exceptional volunteer experiences at a national scale.”

This extends to standarised templates for events, volunteer roles, onboarding, communications, training, and compliance that ensure that best practices are embedded into every event from the outset. This approach enables shared learnings to be captured and replicated across the network, reducing duplication of effort, improving volunteer experiences, and ensuring a more consistent standard of delivery nationwide. As successful processes are identified, they can be incorporated into templates and rolled out across all participating organisations, creating a collaborative model that drives continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The partnership reinforces ASAPD’s commitment to innovation, accessibility and community participation, ensuring volunteers remain at the heart of delivering inclusive sporting opportunities for Australians living with disability.
