Rosterfy is proud to celebrate an incredible milestone, having been recognised as a finalist in the Government and Citizen Engagement category at the prestigious World Summit Awards in Vienna, presented by the United Nations.
Selected from entries across more than 180 countries, Rosterfy was recognised for its contribution to creating positive social impact through technology, supporting organisations around the world to better connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities that deliver tangible impact within their communities, while advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Standing among five global finalists, the Rosterfy team took to the international stage to showcase how volunteer management technology can strengthen communities, reduce barriers to participation, and help organisations amplify their impact. Following a highly competitive three-minute pitch and live Q&A by Co Founder, Bennett Merriman, Rosterfy was awarded runner-up by the narrowest of margins following voting from a 48-person international jury.
While the category winner was officially awarded to Commit Global for its remarkable work strengthening election integrity in Romania and beyond, the experience was a powerful reminder that technology can be a force for good in so many different ways.
Incredibly humbling
“To stand on a global stage representing the volunteer sector was incredibly humbling. This recognition belongs to the organisations and volunteer champions we are privileged to support every day. Their dedication to giving back, strengthening communities, and creating lasting impact is what inspires everything we do.”
For the Rosterfy team, this recognition was about far more than an award. It was an opportunity to reflect on the thousands of volunteers, organisations and communities whose stories and impact make this work possible. In the International Year of the Volunteer, it was especially meaningful to see the volunteering sector given prominence on the world stage.
This recognition is a celebration not only for Rosterfy, but for every organisation and volunteer helping to create stronger, more connected communities. It is a reminder that when people are empowered to give their time, extraordinary things happen.
