Rosterfy is delighted to welcome the Mayor’s Fund for London (MFL) to the Rosterfy community. This autumn, their flagship Access Aspiration Employability and Skills programme will officially go live on the Rosterfy platform – investing in a seamless, engaging experience that empowers young people on their journey to employment.
Why Rosterfy?
The move to Rosterfy marks an important milestone for the MFL team. After years of managing the programme through Salesforce CRM email campaigns, they’ve now transferred their network of more than 3,000 young people onto a single, modern platform.
Chosen for its mobile-first accessibility and built-in engagement tools, Rosterfy will make it easy for students to sign up and take ownership of their journey. Students will receive opportunities tailored to their interests, whether in law, tech, or banking, creating a personalised experience designed to boost participation. With journey tracking, students also gain visibility of their progress, seeing how each step connects to a bigger picture.
Accessing volunteering on the go - The Rosterfy Volunteer App
"We needed something more engaging for young people. The reason we chose Rosterfy is because of the built-in engagement and accessibility of the app.
We can go into schools, get young people to download the app on their phone and easily sign up there and then. What’s really great is they can log in to their dashboard and see their journey - if they take part in a one-day experience and then six months later they do a five-day experience and then two years later they might have a job.”
A safer, more streamlined experience
The platform’s automated check-ins will strengthen safeguarding and improve efficiency. Instead of staff spending hours calling parents or guardians to confirm arrivals, young people can now check in themselves directly through the app and provide updates during their experience.
“The check-in feature is going to be a lifesaver for us,” said Bronwen. “We’ve always had to chase young people up to make sure they’ve arrived safely, but now they can check in through the app and give us updates throughout the experience. It’s going to really help us with safeguarding and saving time.”
The benefits extend beyond logistics. Automated reminders will mean feedback forms are completed on time, and certificates are generated to recognise participation. Together, these features ensure that every young person feels acknowledged and every opportunity contributes to a clear record of progress.
Automated notifications
“It’s really exciting to be able to support the young people more. We’re looking forward to the automations,” Bronwen said. “Young people will get reminders automatically, so they’re not digging through emails or messaging us for details. They can just go to their app and see the information.”
What's next?
Mayor’s Fund for London will roll out Rosterfy at scale during the October half-term programme – their busiest time of the year. Early indicators from the testing phase are promising, with interns describing the app as “really cool” and a good fit for the programme.
The MFL team is excited to explore how Rosterfy can improve attendance, retention, and feedback – building longer-term visibility of young people’s progression from school to employment. Adopting Rosterfy marks the start of a new way of working – less time on manual admin, more time supporting the next generation of Londoners to succeed.
For the team, the shift represents a big step forward. As Delivery Officer Aminat Raji explains:
“After years running our Employability and Skills programme, Access Aspiration through Salesforce CRM email campaigns, we’ve officially launched a brand-new digital platform powered by Rosterfy.
This was an amazing opportunity to lead and learn a cutting-edge SaaS platform and evolve from our trusty Salesforce automations to a user-friendly app for young people. Now everything is in one place, making it easier than ever for young people to access in-person career opportunities across a wide range of businesses and sectors.”
