Rosterfy's Training module enables you to design and assign training programs for your users, transforming essential information into an engaging experience through interactive quiz questions.
IN THIS ARTICLE:
Overview
The Training Module serves as the primary area for Admin users to upload essential resources, including Volunteer manuals, Health & Safety guidelines, and various on-demand training materials for users.
Training modules can be grouped together with Training Types, to categorise the purpose or to group similar training together.
Training can be set up as step-by-step information only, or include a quiz to ensure your users have retained the required information from the training.
Training can include text, images, gifs and videos as well as be created using SCORM files.
Creating a Training Module
To create a training module, check out the instructions on the Creating Online Training Modules article. This will take you through step-by-step instructions to create your own training module either from scratch or from training information you have.
SCORM Files
You are also able to create your Training Modules using SCORM files.
SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a collection of standards and specifications for e-learning courses.
A SCORM file is a digital package that contains e-learning content, such as text, images, videos, audio, and assessments, and is designed to be compatible with any Learning Management System (LMS) that supports SCORM. Rosterfy supports SCORM files for the training module, to learn more about this and how you can incorporate your SCORM files into Rosterfy, check out the SCORM Files article.
Assigning Training - Organisation Wide
Training modules can be setup to be automatically assigned to any users when they complete their registration form. This is useful for training your users on anything that is required for all users of your organisation.
To setup organisation wide training modules, follow these instructions:
- Navigate to Settings > Organization Settings.
- Click on the Training tab.
- Select the pick menu for Choose a Training for all Users, and select the training you would like to assign from the list.
- Click Save.
Note: This training will only be able to be accessed by users who have the required access permission of Training. For more information on checkpoint permissions, check out the Checkpoints - Overview article.
Assigning Training - Event, Shift or Role Offer Specific
For training or information you want to share with users that is specific to an Event, a Shift or a Role, you can set Rosterfy to assign the training to users based on these options.
You can assign the training modules when creating the Event, Shift or Role Offer, or update the assigned training after creation.
To setup training specific to an Event, after creation, follow the below steps:
- Navigate to Events > Events.
- Locate the event you want to add training to and click More Actions > Update.
- On the Advanced tab, select the pick menu for Choose a Training, and select the training you would like to assign from the list.
- Click Save.
Once the user signs up to the event or shift they will be assigned the training and be able to access it on their volunteer portal. (If they have the required access permissions.)
Note: The steps are the similar for assigning training to a shift or role offer, except you would update the specific shift or Role Offer.
External Training
In certain situations, you may need users to complete training or access training materials without requiring them to have a Rosterfy account.
To address this, you can establish external training modules that can be completed without the necessity of creating a Rosterfy account.
Check out the External Training article for more information on how to set this up.
Training Reporting
You can monitor training completion either through a dashboard widget or by checking the list of users assigned to each training module.
To track your users' progress, simply follow the steps outlined below.
- Navigate to Users > Training.
- Click View Users against the training module you would like to check.
- All users assigned to the training will show here, to easily view who has completed the training, we can apply filters. Click Advanced Filters.
- The Advanced Filters screen will pop-up. Click Add Filter and add a filter based on Status.
Alternatively, you can add a Training Progress or Training Completed widget to your admin dashboard.
