Product Updates - (SP095) - 5 Aug 2025

This article provides an overview of the features/updates the product development team have delivered in the 5 Aug 25 release (Sprint 095).

What's New πŸš€

Our dedicated team has been working tirelessly to enhance the Rosterfy platform, focusing on user feedback and evolving industry needs. We are excited to introduce a variety of new features designed to improve functionality, streamline processes, and enrich the overall user experience.

Shift Calendar Enhancements

Following the initial release of the Shift Calendar, we have made further enhancements to this feature. In addition to discontinuing the previous shift calendar view, we have implemented several updates detailed below.

Ability to apply as Shift Leader

Users can now easily apply for Shift Leader positions directly through the Shift Calendar. Here’s everything you need to know about this enhancement:

  • The "Select as Shift Leader" button will be visible to users who have the necessary permissions when there is a demand for Shift Leaders.

  • If the user lacks the necessary permissions, the button will not be visible. Additionally, if there are no current demands for Shift Leaders, the button will appear greyed out.

  • Shift Leader selections will be indicated by a star icon (Leader β˜…) next to the shift name.

πŸ’‘How this helps: This enhancement allows users to apply for Shift Leader roles directly within the Shift Calendar, simplifying the application process and providing users with clearer guidance on available positions.

Layout and Sizing Improvements

Enhancements have been implemented to improve the layout and visibility of the Daily view on the Shift Calendar, ensuring that shift cards are stable and easy to read at various zoom levels.

Additionally, updates have been made to reflect changes in terminology for better clarity. If any terminology exceeds the available display space, it will be truncated with an ellipsis, and users can hover over it to view the complete text.

πŸ’‘How this helps: The enhancements to the sizing and display of the Daily view ensure that users will have a clear and easy-to-read interface, no matter what zoom level they are using.

Multiple Languages now supported

The Shift Calendar now offers support for multiple languages, enhancing accessibility for users who speak languages other than English.

Key labels such as Today, Previous Week, and Hide Full Shifts are now translated in the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly views.

Additionally, dates are displayed correctly in Arabic and Japanese across all views.

Please note that error messages are currently not included in these translations, and it is the responsibility of administrators to configure any necessary custom terminology adjustments for different languages.

For more information on the languages Rosterfy supports, please refer to the Languages supported in the Volunteer Portal article.

πŸ’‘How this helps: The introduction of multiple language support for the Shift Calendar enables users to access the platform in their preferred language, enhancing clarity and facilitating better engagement with the features.

Notification History added to User Profiles

A new Notification History section has been integrated into User Profiles, located within the Communications tab.

This addition aligns Notifications with Emails and SMS, providing a comprehensive overview of user communications.

Each entry in the Notification History offers administrators two options: View and Resend.

View: This option allows administrators to preview the specific notification that was sent to the user.

Resend: Selecting this option navigates the administrator to the communication module, allowing them to resend the notification as needed.

πŸ’‘How this helps: In conjunction with the SMS and Email history, the Notification History provides administrators with a complete view of all communications sent to users.

Total Shift Hours added to User Profile Stats in Admin Console

A new Total Shift Hours statistic has been incorporated into the User Profile Admin view, ensuring consistency with the statistics displayed on the volunteer portal.

To enable User Profile Stats, follow these simple steps:

  1. In the Admin Console, navigate to Settings > Organization Settings.

  2. On the Admin Console tab, either locate or search for User Update Labels.

  3. To change these labels, make sure to turn off the Use Default? toggle first. Then, use the dropdown menu to select the desired fields.

Minor Enhancements / Fixes β˜‘οΈ

A number of minor enhancements / fixes have also been made to the platform and are outlined briefly below.

Shift count inconsistency and application status issue

Shift counts in the daily, weekly, and monthly views now accurately display the number of available shifts, and users can select shifts when applications are open.

Daily view filter returning incorrect results

We have improved the accuracy and functionality of event filtering in the Daily view, ensuring that the filtered results are now displayed correctly when applied.

Accurate shift status now displayed

We have enhanced the visibility and consistency of shift statuses throughout the Shift Calendar by ensuring that status labels are clearly displayed in both the shift card and shift drawer views.

Removed old shift calendar settings and permissions

As we have successfully completed the rollout of the new Shift Calendar, we have phased out the old shift calendar settings and checkpoint permissions to streamline the user experience.

Custom Date/Time format fixes for Shift Calendar

The Shift Calendar now accurately reflects the date and time formats used across the portal, ensuring that time zones are displayed correctly and that multi-day events are presented with clarity.
