Product Updates - Mobile App - 21 May 2025

This article provides an overview of the features/updates the product development team have delivered in the 21st of May 2025 Rosterfy Mobile App release.

What’s New 🚀

Our dedicated team has been working tirelessly to enhance the Rosterfy platform, focusing on user feedback and evolving industry needs. We are excited to introduce a variety of new features designed to improve functionality, streamline processes, and enrich the overall user experience.

Availability Feature

We’re excited to introduce the My Availability feature to help volunteers better manage their availability directly from the app.

A new My Availability option is now available from the hamburger menu, when enabled.

Clicking this option navigates users directly to the Availability Setup page, where they can view, add or update their availability for each day of the week.

As well as manage any availability exceptions with ease, as the system validates date and time logic to prevent errors.

All changes to availability sync automatically between the app and the desktop volunteer portal.

Users who try to apply for a shift that overlaps with their unavailable time will receive a warning, to help them make informed decisions, before they apply to the shift.

Note: This feature is only available to users with simple mode availability. Any users using advanced mode for availability will need to continue to use the desktop volunteer portal for their availability needs.

💡How this helps: This update enhances scheduling flexibility, improves shift matching accuracy, and gives users greater control over their volunteering schedule.

Day of the Week added to Shift Details

Users can now see the day of the week for each shift schedule, making it easier to see if a shift aligns with the day they want to volunteer, without having to check a separate calendar.

💡How this helps: This enhancement to the shift details allows users to quickly identify the day of the week for each shift, facilitating faster and more informed decision-making regarding their volunteer commitments.

Improved Phone Number Validation

We've upgraded the phone number validation system, this change enabled better support for users around the world, by accurately validating phone numbers based on regional rules.

It also ensures users receive clear feedback if a number is invalid, preventing submission errors or user frustration.

💡How this helps: This validation will improve accuracy and support a wider range of international phone number formats.

Loading Indicator added

When users select an item, a loading indicator will be displayed to provide visual feedback that their action is being processed. Once the action is complete the loading indicator disappears, confirming that the process has finished.

💡How this helps: The addition of a loading indicator will help prevent confusion or repeated taps by clearly signalling that the system is working in the background.

Branding Updates to Automated Emails

We have updated the branding elements on the automated emails sent to users when they interact with the app, including branding images, text font, and text sizing.

Minor Enhancements / Fixes ☑️

A number of minor enhancements / fixes have also been made to the platform and are outlined briefly below.

Accept Role Offer via the Accept Form

Users are now able to complete the Accept Form from within the app for Role Offers that they cannot self-apply to.

Authentication Issue for Embedded Forms fixed

Users who click on a User Interaction form that is embedded in the dashboard portal content, will now have the form open in an in-app window without the need for re-authentication.

Updates to Display of Single & Multiple Selection Fields

All available options in both single selection and multiple selection fields are now displayed to users in full, ensuring no options are hidden or truncated.

Event Expression of Interest Form Enhancements

The Event EOI form is now displayed with a header, a save button and an arrow back, for improved navigation and user experience.

File Upload Issue with Samsung's My Files Application

We have identified an issue specific to the Samsung My Files application, which may fail when users are uploading using the native android file picker. While other file manager apps continue to work as expected, this incompatibility may effect some Samsung users. To reduce confusion we have added an error message if the upload fails, encouraging users to use an alternate file manager.

Visibility Improvements to Withdraw Button

We've addressed an issue in relation to the Withdraw button which would blend into the background when a user reapplied for a previously withdrawn role offer. This button is now clearly visible and styled to stand out.

Complete Shift Application Scroll fix

When the Complete Shift Application prompt for a linked shift was displayed, users were unable to scroll down to the last shift button on the shift listing page. We’ve corrected this issue to ensure users can fully scroll to the bottom of the shift listing page to access all linked shifts, even when the Complete Shift Application banner is shown.
